Artist Statement

The main subjects of my photographs are landscapes and wildlife in their most pristine condition. Therefore, the vast majority of my images do not show any signs of human civilization.

I want the viewer to stand in awe of the marvels that exist around us by extracting the beauty of nature and condensing it into a concise statement.

Unfortunately, many of these marvels are fast disappearing, so I hope that my images will help slow down the deterioration of our environment and also serve as documentary evidence of places and things that have already been destroyed.

When it comes to landscapes, I try to transmit to the viewer a set of feelings. These feelings vary widely, and can include things like hot, cold, happiness, sadness, excitement, purity, serenity, textural feelings like rough or smooth, peacefulness, surprise, excitement, love, power and myriads more.

When it comes to wildlife, I try to produce images that show the personality of animals in the environment they inhabit. I want the image to give a feeling to the viewer that he or she is communicating with a different species through the image.

I consider Photography an interactive and dynamic process between the artist and the viewer. As such, I strive to capture the attention of the viewer in such a way that the viewer feels an irresistible invitation to fully explore each image and to share the vision, the message and the feelings that the image represents.

No amount of time and no expense are spared to produce my images. My main driver is an unstoppable passion for the medium as opposed to purely commercial considerations or pressures for profit. My sole goal is to produce the best images I possibly can. From capture to the final print I use only the finest tools and the best museum grade materials available.

There are no third parties involved in the production of my work. My prints are produced in extremely limited numbers (usually between 5 and 20 prints from each image), and each print is is individually handcrafted and personally signed by me.
